IES Membership Benefits

Membership to the Irish ergonomics society have many benefits some of which includes the Representation of the Ergonomics profession in Ireland, the ability to apply for membership of CREE and hence European Ergonomist (EurErg) title, to receive Information on current topics relating to ergonomics and human factors issues both in Ireland and abroad through e-mails, the Irish Ergonomist newsletter and the IES Website, the opportunity to participate in specialist working groups and continuing professional development through skills workshops.    

 

There are 4 membership classes:

Fellow: Normally anyone who has: (a) Made a significant contribution to the teaching of, and/or, research in Ergonomics for 10 years, after being eligible to be a Member; (b) Made a substantial contribution to the activities of the Society; (c) Been a Member for at least 6 years prior to application.

 

Member: Anyone who has one or more of the following: (a) A qualification in ergonomics or a cognate subject;  (b) Evidence of application of ergonomics over a period of at least 2 years;  (c) Published not less than 2 scientific papers on topics in the field of ergonomics.

 

Associate/ Affiliate: Anyone who is active in the ergonomics field but who does not qualify for Member status.

 

Student: Anyone enrolled in a course in ergonomics or a cognate subject. For more information view Student pamphlet.

IES Membership Subscription

For ease of administration, all IES membership will be renewed annually on the 15th March. Renewal notices will be issued by mid-February. Consistent with the constitution, ONLY paid-up members will be entitled to vote in the AGM.
